Burn Care

Shriners Hospitals for Children®-Boston has been a pioneer in burn care since we began treating burn survivors in the 1960s. In fact, some of the most significant advancements in burn care, such as skin grafting and the development of engineered skin, were achieved right here at Shriners-Boston.

Our patients receive advanced care for burn injuries, including reconstructive and plastic surgery and modern scar treatment.  Our extensive and unique rehabilitation program includes physical therapy and classroom instruction during hospitalization periods, along with assistance for the child’s eventual return to school and the community.
